Developed by Jackson Builders, the two-story development will feature up to seven separate commercial spaces which front the sidewalk on the ground floor. The second floor proposes eight 1-bedroom apartment homes for rent.
Retail projects with a single level of residential above is not a common design approach in Nashville. However, the addition of the residential above the commercial space is an added benefit; this project will offer a much-needed supply for local renters. Here is the quick rundown:

The site’s front facade will mesh well with the street and sidewalk, featuring a ramp and outdoor seating areas in front of the storefronts. Renderings in circulation are both in black & white, however, I was not able to get information on the final color scheme.
Buchanan Street has excellent sidewalk and bike lane infrastructure, and this project will capitalize on that with its friendliness towards pedestrian traffic. The residential units, while overlooking Buchanan street, are accessed exclusively from the back of the property, giving the tenants a degree of separation from the businesses and shoppers below.
