REI Co-op is building a new 400,000 SF distribution center in Lebanon to support its continued growth. Like REI’s other centers, the facility in Lebanon will address the employee experience, community engagement and environmental impact. The deal was brokered by AI. Neyer who will also serve as architect and general contractor.
REI’s Lebanon distribution center will employ more than 280 staff and service nearly 5.6 million REI members that live in the service area. Located on Murfreesboro Road in Wilson County, the facility is one mile from I-40 and three miles from downtown Lebanon. The location is intended to reduce shipping times for fulfilling customers’ online purchases and be able to support more than 70 REI stores.

REI’s existing distribution centers are all LEED certified with the Arizona facility achieving LEED Platinum and Net Zero Energy. REI’s Lebanon distribution center is being constructed with industry-leading sustainability and technology features that complement its Arizona site. The building will address the entire life cycle of carbon impacts by using 100% renewable, 100% electric energy and operating as a zero-waste facility. REI will also be an active participant in regional renewable energy solutions.

REI has more than 267,000 lifetime members in the state and opened its first retail store in Brentwood in 1999. Today, REI operates five stores and employs nearly 300 professionals in the state.
