Mass Excavation activities are well underway on a new mixed-use development on Wedgewood Avenue. The initial plan for the site was submitted back in 2014 and received approval in April of 2015. Fast-forward to today, the 7-story development is preparing to place foundations.
While nearly 7 years may seem like a long timeline, the timing couldn’t be any better. WEHO Nashville is located at the intersection of Wedgewood Ave & Stewart place. This centers the development between interstate 65 & the Fairgrounds.
In recent news, Nashville Mayor John Cooper announced the city’s intention to revitalize the Fairgrounds Speedway. That’s in addition to the new Nashville SC Stadium nearing completion. This gives future residents the ability to walk to the fairgrounds as well as easy access onto the interstate. Here’s the quick rundown:
- What’s Now: Vacant Lot
- What’s Next: Mixed-Use Development
- Developer: Ridgehouse Capital
- Architect: VE Design Group
- Location: 661 Wedgewood Avenue
- Capacity: 150 units, 3000 SF Retail, 172 Parking Spaces & Amenities
- Contractor: Mission Constructors, LLC
The ground floor of the development proposes a two-story retail/office space and resident lobby. The retail space and resident lobby act as a liner to conceal the 2-story concrete podium garage. Given the site topography, the parking garage is partially below grade with a minimal profile.
Access to the parking garage is located on the east end of the development off Wedgwood Avenue. Additionally, there is an access road and truck turn around area also on the east end.
Level 2 will feature two amenity spaces with views onto the pool deck. The roof top pool sits above the concrete podium. The roof deck extends into the apex of the building structure and creates a more intimate courtyard experience. The amenity level and the next 4 levels up include studio, 1, & 2-bedroom units.
