Construction of Vanderbilt’s Graduate Village is swiftly taking shape. The approximately 615 bed residence is expected to accept students in the 2023-24 academic school year. The new project is bounded by 20th Avenue South, Lyle Ave, and Broadway.
The project is comprised of two towers over a concrete podium with a total of 529 units. The tower structures are built using the Prescient manufactured building system, similar to the Haven In The Gulch Development.
The South tower, along Broadway, will rise 7 stories with a total of 229 units. The North Tower will rise 11 Stories with a total of 300 units. The project will provide 55 Bike Parking Spaces and 81 Retail parking spaces. The “off-campus” development is a Public Private Partnership between Vanderbilt University, Balfour Beatty & Axiom Infrastructure; JE Dunn is the Contractor.
Building Amenities include conference & collaboration rooms, café, kitchen, fitness center, outdoor plazas, a package room, and bike room. It will also feature more than 23,000 Square feet of ground floor retail facing Broadway and 20th Avenue South.
According to the University’s website, this project will offer a unique living-learning opportunity in the heart of midtown Nashville. It will also help foster a greater sense of community and collaboration among graduate and professional students. Here is a look at construction progress since its groundbreaking last summer.
