A new apartment-style hotel is close to topping out in Nashville’s Music Row. Located at the Corner of Chet Akins Place &17th Avenue South, the project will bring 133 new hotel rooms to the neighborhood. Music Row is bounded by Midtown, Edge Hill, Vanderbilt University & Downtown Nashville. The property address is 50 Music Row.

The Music Row neighborhood is known for its music studios & offices, many of which were located in single-story homes. As development activity in Nashville started to outpace most of the country, there has been a number of larger scale projects which have been proposed and recently completed. New development activity in Music Row consists of a mix of building types including two mass-timber offices. The map below shows a sample of recent projects within Music Row.

50 Music Row has been on the books for quite some time as it navigated permitting and unforeseen site conditions. Designed by Manuel Zeitlin Architects, the development type and use come as a result of community engagement. During that time the community desired to create a place were visiting musicians & artists could stay in Music Row. There was also a desire for more restaurant space. Here’s the quick rundown:

The Architects were able to maximize the number of rooms on the square-shaped site; which for a low-rise hotel presents a set of challenges. The end result will produce creative room layouts that will feel like an apartment. Amenities include a yoga studio, fitness center, parking, elevated pool deck, and ground floor restaurant. Below are a few progress photos of the development.
