Work is well underway at the brand new 86,000+ SF Beaman Toyota dealership in South Nashville. Once the construction of the new Beaman Toyota is complete, those operations will relocate from its Midtown & Edge Hill sites in the city core. The relocation of these operations will free up more than 14 acres of prime real estate for redevelopment. The new Beaman Toyota site is located at 343 Harding Place.

According to a release, local developer GBT Realty (GBT) purchased the Midtown site for $110 Million with plans to redevelop the property with equity partner Monarch Alternative Capital (Monarch). GBT and Monarch has recently submitted a request for Urban Design Overlay for the midtown property. Once approved, it will create the framework for a mixed-use campus.
Separately, Beaman sold the Edge Hill property to Chicago-Area Developer Marquette Companies. That entity plans to develop the North Edgehill Commons Development which once housed a Beaman service center. The North Edgehill Commons development is located just south of the Nashville Gulch. Links to the two projects are at the end of this article.

Now that the Toyota operations will relocate, what will Beaman do with its other brands? A representative from Beaman shared that there are plans in place to spread its other services throughout the City. Beaman is creating an Express Service center (not exclusive to Toyota), relocating the GMC & Buick dealership, as well as creating a new body shop.
The express service center is located at 600 46th Avenue in The Nations. The Express center will replace the now closed window tinting shop. GMC and Buick are relocating from the midtown location to 5300 Mt. View Road in Antioch. Beaman is also adding a body shop facility to the current parts warehouse at 615 Davidson Street on the East Bank. The maps above provide more location-based context.

The new Toyota facility, like the former, has immediate access to the interstate and will consolidate several services all under one roof. The look and feel are consistent with the existing Beaman Toyota Dealership although now with improved access and service areas. Here’s the quick rundown:
